I adapted the above poem when I was a teenager and can still remember it even now........ ODE TO DAVID ~ You looked so tempting in the car, You looked so shy and calm, My trembling fingers played with yours, As you caressed my arm ~ Your heart beat hard against my chest, My foot to yours was set, Your soft green sweater burned my cheek, Whenever they two met ~ Oh little, little heard we dear, And little, little cared, Although the others sermonised, And your sister stared.
