The Chair of Maximian is a episcopal throne with wooden frame covered with plates of ivory, probably made in Constantinople or Antioch for Maximian, the first archbishop of Ravenna (546-554 CE). The richness of its decoration and the rarity of such a type of furniture make it an exceptional example of early Christian sculpture in ivory.

It was a gift to the archbishop from the Byzantine Emperor Justinian. I would just stick it in a corner as decoration.
