Remembering the lives of those lost on and Honoring all those who responded, including rescue dogs, police officers, firefighters and everyone who came together, these are our Heroes who will never be forgotten.

As the world remembers September the victims, survivors, families and rescue crews, just stop and thank for a minute and give thanks for those search and rescue dogs that bravely went into the disaster area. Well done fur babies ♥♥♥

TRAKR: 9/11 & Canada's GREATEST HERO: "In the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, Trakr worked tirelessly for three days, braving unimaginable conditions to search for survivors. He walked across hot steel beams as fires raged in pits hundreds of feet below, crawled through narrow tunnels of unstable debris, breathed dense smoke and debris-filled air and braved treacherous footing - never once showing fear. Trakr probably found the last survivor buried beneath the rubble 9 meters underneath the surface after 9/11, in addition to locating numerous victims. "In the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, Trakr simply forged ahead because of his remarkable valor and ability to sense the desperation around him." At last, Trakr collapsed from chemical and smoke inhalation, burns, and exhaustion. For his heroic efforts, Trakr was presented with the Extraordinary Service to Humanity Award by Dr. Jane Goodall: "An International hero, unparalleled search and rescue K9, humanitarian - Trakr is the courageous German shepherd whose 9/11 rescue and legendary police work made him one of the worlds most revered dogs". Trakr first attained hero status in Canada during the 1990s as both a police and search and rescue dog. Extraordinarily tenacious, Trakr was credited with finding hundreds of people and recovered more than $1 million in stolen goods. Trakr then retired and his partner, Officer James Symington, came from Canada to work at the site of the World Trade Center after 9/11. A 15 hours trip. After Trakr died at 16, Symington said, “I am honored to have been Trakr’s partner, best friend and lifelong companion. He possessed a rare combination of uncanny intuition, pure heart, and relentless courage and has been an inspiration to so many. He’ll live in my heart forever.”

He walked across hot steel beams as fires raged in pits hundreds of feet below, crawled through narrow tunnels of unstable debris, breathed dense smoke and debris-filled air and braved treacherous footing - never once showing fear. Trakr probably found the last survivor buried beneath the rubble 9 meters underneath the surface after 9/11, in addition to locating numerous victims. "In the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 attacks, Trakr simply forged ahead because of his remarkable valor and ability to sense the desperation around him." At last, Trakr collapsed from chemical and smoke inhalation, burns, and exhaustion. For his heroic efforts, Trakr was presented with the Extraordinary Service to Humanity Award by Dr. Jane Goodall: "An International hero, unparalleled search and rescue K9, humanitarian - Trakr is the courageous German shepherd whose 9/11 rescue and legendary police work made him one of the worlds most revered dogs". Trakr first attained hero status in Canada during the 1990s as both a police and search and rescue dog. Extraordinarily tenacious, Trakr was credited with finding hundreds of people and recovered more than $1 million in stolen goods. Trakr then retired and his partner, Officer James Symington, came from Canada to work at the site of the World Trade Center after 9/11. A 15 hours trip. After Trakr died at 16, Symington said, “I am honored to have been Trakr’s partner, best friend and lifelong companion. He possessed a rare combination of uncanny intuition, pure heart, and relentless courage and has been an inspiration to so many. He’ll live in my heart forever.”
