Dragons

Dragons occur in my dreams since my early childhood. Although in Europe they have quite a bad reputation, in Eastern mythology , especially in Chinese they are associated with the creative energies of the cosmos. They emerge in my dreams as positive charracters, giving protection, inspiration and energy. This album includes a few of my dragon paintings

Quan Yin and the Yellow Dragon. Quan Yin is the godess of limitless compassion in the Chinese and Japanese mythology. The Yellow Dragon is associated with luck, longevity, the element Earth. I saw the original of this painting somewhere on the internet, and I painetd it as a sigillum between the 25th December 2013 - 5th of January 2014, to balance the challenging constellations of 2014.

This motif  of an uroboros holding a key emerged in a dream of 2007, November "Of particular symbolic significance is the snake biting its own tail (Greek UROBORUS), which stands for the cycle of eternal return, or for eternity in general.
