1880 Bonnet Culture: American Medium: straw, velvet Bonnet; straw with red floral accents and velvet ties. Bonnet woven of natural colored straw-like material with light brown thread. Bonnet is lavishly trimmed with bright red velvet bows on the top, sides, and back. Interspersed with the ribbons are red flower buds with yellow/green stems and pods. Red velvet ribbon trim binds edges of bonnet and extends to form ties under the chin. Interior lined with netting and a silk.
