This particularly striking 1880s mourning ensemble is owned by Evan Michaelson of Obscura Antiques and Oddities. She loaned it to the wonderful 2008 exhibit at the FIT on gothic fashions called Dark Glamour. If you couldn't make it to the exhibit, buy the catalogue! It's glorious.

Another PATRONS Offering - made to look like the Rauched Ribbon Head Dress in the CDV I posted yesterday. Taffeta ribbon on a wire frame - will fit any size head. Anchors with a Bobby Pin at center front and an Elastic Cord stretched under the back of the head. Two Loops of Ribbon behind the ears soften the look and there are 25 ties to either tie over hair gathered at the back, or under it.
