Eszterháza Royal Palace, Fertod, Hungary. This baroque-rococo "Hungarian Versailles" was built between 1720 and 1766 for Miklos Esterhazy Fenyes, head of one of Hungary's wealthiest, aristocratic families. The Austrian composer Joseph Hayden lived here as a guest for nearly half of his active period, 1766 to 1790.

The Second Battle of Kosovo opened Constantinople to attack. The Ottomans won a decisive victory and thereby halted the last major effort by Christian Crusaders to free the Balkans from Ottoman rule and to relieve Constantinople (Istanbul).
