Bad things are always going to happen but what defines us is how we persevere. We have the capacity as a nation...as a world...to rise above. We saw this 14 years ago. We were witness to it. We became aware that together we are stronger...and that our cure...our healing...will always be in the process. We need to be reminded of this often. Not just on days of remembrance. We rise above by not letting what happens to us own us. We rise above by owning it...as a couple...as a team...as a nation...
