Figural Ceramics of the 1930s to 1970s

Figural Ceramics of the 1930s and 1940s were popular in lower middle class in Hungary. Its charm comes from the rough and ready design. They often depict folk scenes with earthly humor. In the 1950-1970' folk art remained an inspiration and source of naive shapes and decors for ceramic artists such as Kis Roóz Ilona.
