First Light on Three Brothers, Yosemite National Park

The Three Brothers is my favorite rock formation in Yosemite Valley. Clear views of the Three Brothers are few. I found this one after pulling into the Cathedral picnic area and walking along the river for a couple hundred yards. I waded into the water to keep some foreground flotsam out of frame. The Merced was absolutely still. I waited a couple minutes for the light to hit all three peaks. The sky on the right was already bright, so I decided to embrace a more blown-out look across…
