Holocaust Museum - Washington D. I cried like a little baby in here. Before you get on the elevator to see the museum, they give you a passport from this endless wall of passports. In the passport is someone's story from the holocaust.

During WWII, Jews in Budapest were taken to the Danube River, ordered to remove their shoes & then were shot, falling into the water below. 60 pairs of iron shoes now line the river's bank, a ghostly memorial to the victims. 'Shoes on the Danube' by Can Togay and Gyula Pauer

Iron shoes are pictured on the bank of the Danube on January marking the Holocaust in Hungary. Hundreds of Hungarian Jews had to leave their shoes on the bank before they were shot into the river by Hungarian militiamen during the World War II.
