Judit Polgár, a Hungarian chess grandmaster, is by far the strongest female chess player in history. In 1991, Polgár achieved the title of Grandmaster at the age of 15 years and 4 months, the youngest person ever to do so at that time. Polgár is the only woman to have won a game from a current world number one player, and has defeated nine current or former world champions in either rapid or classical chess.

In 1984, she became the top ranked woman in the world, and remained in the top 3 for 23 years. She was also the 1st woman to qualify for the Men's World Championship. Polgár won 10 Olympic medals and 4 Women's World Championships.
