Erzsébet Hid - Elizabeth Bridge - Budapest. Spanning the Danube at its narrowest point through the city, it was built 1961-1964 and named for Elisabeth of Bavaria, a popular and loved Empress of Austria-Hungary assassinated in 1898. The bridge is on the foundations of the original bridge destroyed in WWII along with all the bridges in the city.
