Conwy Castle, Conwy County. Like so many of the great Welsh castles, Conwy was built by English King Edward I during his conquest and repression of Wales. On making it a #World Heritage Site, UNESCO declared Conwy to be one of "the finest examples of late 13th century and early 14th century military architecture in Europe."
Culzean Castle (pronounced cull-ANE: see yogh) is a castle near Maybole, Carrick, on the Ayrshire coast of Scotland. It is the former home of the Marquess of Ailsa but is now owned by the National Trust for Scotland. The clifftop castle lies within the Culzean Castle Country Park and is opened to the public.
