One of the images portrayed in Macbeth is concealment vs. reality. Lady Macbeth for example demands Macbeth to “look like the innocent flower but be the serpent under’t”(I,V, 65-66). Shakespeare uses a flower to represent the innocence on the outside but a snake on the inside. This confirms Lady Macbeth's personality perfectly. This image has a woman with black paint over their true face disguising Lady Macbeth's reality. Macbeth is taken in by Lady Macbeth's philosophy eventually.
