I had gotten off the Ohio Turnpike on the last exit going east to get gas when I spotted this unlikely abandoned house near the gas station. I think it is early twentieth century but looks like something you would find in an upscale suburb of the 1920's. The barn following was on the property. I have intended to try to find it and get better pictures. Recently I ran across a set by jeffdoolittle4, taken about a year ago. It doesn't seem to have changed much except for a little more…
Abandoned Indiana school
While going down 26 in Howard. Co. I spotted this across the open field. I thought it was going to be another plain one room school house, but I did not expect it to have personality! I thought it was cute, even in its current condition. I bet it was a beauty in its day.
This is sad; this is an absolutely beautiful building (1910) with lovely, ornate brickwork. The brick is in fine shape, while the wood deteriorates over time. What a crime to let such a fantastic building go to waste. On Route 24, heading south, north of Mayville.
