Crow Men and Women
White Bear, Crow by Yenshee Baby, via Flickr Pinned by indus® in honor of the indigenous people of North America who have influenced our indigenous medicine and spirituality by virtue of their being a member of a tribe from the Western Region through the Plains including the beginning of time until tomorrow.
The tribes name in their own language is Apsáalooke, meaning "children of the large-beaked bird". They had migrated from the eastern woodland areas. and were pushed to the west by the Lakota (Sioux), who were being pushed due to the european/american expansion. the Sioux took over the Crow territory from the black hills of north dakota to the big horn mountains of Montana. the crow eventually divided into three groups, The Mountain Crow, The River Crow, and Kicked in the Bellies.
