WOKIPI- world kite picture - Festival cerfs-volants Dieppe 2012
Sticked 3D Kites. This one is hard to categorize. It's made from identical small structures like a cellular kite, and yet the individual cells are not letting air through like a cellular. Interesting design! T.P. (my-best-kite.com) "Cervia 2012" Cropped from a photo by Videocat on Flickr.
Some strong art here, although probably not to everyone's taste. This kite is creative in both structure and decoration. Nice job! T.P. (my-best-kite.com) "aquiloni a cervia, 24 aprile 2005" Cropped from a photo by luiginter on Flickr (cc)
Flat or Bowed Kites. That's what I'm calling this, despite the cell-like structure in the middle that would be making a very small contribution to the lift force generated. A triangular Box kite with huge wings perhaps? Notice the bridle lines on each side, helping to prevent those long wings from folding up under the stresses of flight... T.P. (my-best-kite.com)
Stunt Kites. Notice the 2 flying lines? That gives this away as a Diamond Stunt kite. Not as capable as the 2-line Delta kites in general, but plenty of steerable fun to be had anyway! T.P. (my-best-kite.com) "Red Kite" Rotated and cropped from a photo by Adam Lederer on Flickr.
Flat or Bowed Kites. A traditional hexagonal kite - which looks rather like a Rokkaku on it's side. However, this kite has three spars crossed over in the middle. T.P. (my-best-kite.com) "PICT2228" Rotated and cropped from a photo by LongView on Flickr (cc)
Sweet kite, no?
These long-tail "Janggan" kites remind me of fighter planes clawing for altitude. However, these traditional kites are floating above the crowds at the Bali Kite festival on Sanur Beach, Bali, Indonesia. T.P. (my-best-kite.com)
