Lindy's note: I used to make my own painting surfaces using thin masonite boards with multiple coats this gesso/pumice blend, lightly sanding in between each coat so the ultimate surface was regular.

Tools of the trade! As I love detail, I'm finding using fingers for smudging a bit hit and miss so I've started using these more and more. Some are colour shapers, these are brilliant for blending eyes where accuracy is vital, the big fat brush is good to remove dust and eraser excess and the flat brush is used to remove pastel where I've misfired!
