A Year! Let's Celebrate!

Hello friends It's been a while since I posted the picture of the coffee/tea cup - for those of you who don't know, it means pop the kettle on - this could be a long blog post! I realised yesterday that it was a year ago that I launched the Hope and Chances Website, the original blog post detailing it all is here. I remember talking with my website designer saying that it would be fairly small, not too many categories blah blah blah - well I was wrong! It has grown and the boys can verify…

Gone to Seed!

Gone to Seed!

Hello friends I hope you are having an enjoyable weekend. Glad you liked the scrapbook page yesterday. Janice asked a really good question - she had noticed that I use a lot of black and white photos as opposed to colour. This is true! I do this as it means I have free choice of what colour papers to use. Although saying that, if I have a photo of say someone wearing a red Christmas jumper, then tying that in with red papers works beautifully too. Today something very Spring like and I think…

Row Houses

Friday Die Day

Hello friends Today I am featuring Row Houses. This is one die template featuring 5 houses, it measures 4¾ x 1½“ and this is how it looks cut/embossed. So this is nothing like a tag! I've used one of the little battery tea lights - you can pick these up in 99p Stores/Poundland. I've wrapped around a piece of cardstock and glued at the seam. I've then adhered the row of houses and tied some twine - speedy! A collection of these in different colours would look good as table decorations…

Friday Die Day

Friday Die Day

Hello friends Friday already and here is Friday Die Day. Today I am featuring Birds on a Wire - one of the new In'spire Line dies. One die template with this set featuring two rows of birds sitting on a wire. This is how they look cut/embossed. A tag! (Of course!) I went down my scrap box and found some Glitz paper that looks like hessian. Added thick twine. Placed the two rows of birds, just trimmed a tiny bit of the 'wire'. I raised them up with 3D Foam Squares. The little 'Hand Made…

Pierced Circles Spellbinders

Friday Die Day

Hello friends Friday Die Day and today it is Pierced Circles. These are part of the Spellbinders® Celebra’tions™ line. This set has a combination of cut edge circles and piercing edge circles. When nested, it creates a piercing edge to its die cut. The sizes are: Circle 1 – 1⅞” (Inset) Circle 2 – 2” Circle 3 – 2⅞” (Inset) Circle 4 – 3” Circle 5 – 3⅞”(Inset) Circle 6 – 4” This is how each set looks cut/embossed. A card today. Ivory linen card base with a piece of patterned paper from my odd…

Snowflake Bliss Spellbinders®

An Altered Heart

Hello friends As promised yesterday, a little tutorial on altering a bargain wooden heart available to buy from the Range - 89p! There are also stars... Firstly I added a tiny bit of white paint and wiped it off with a piece of kitchen towel, just to lighten it a little more. I then selected Classic Hearts and was delighted that the shape very much mirrored the wooden heart. The paper is Basic Grey and out of my odd box. Next I opted for Snowflake Bliss and Layered Poinsettia - well, you…
