Students will be learning about the 7 elements of art and how to take photos representing each element. Then Students will present to their peers.

Teach the Art Principles in addition to the 7 Art Elements, then have your children find an art piece to critique using the principles.

Students had a week and a half to create an 8 grid layout pertaining to 7 of the elements and 1 principle of their choice.

After finishing up our graffiti unit, the next unit of focus in my Art 7 classes was the elements of art. I created a note packet with snipets of worksheets and information that I "borrowed" from Pinterest. Each page in the note packet concentrated on a single element and had some sort of drawing exercise, as well as vocabulary and definitions. These pages took us about two class periods to complete. Elements & Principles Four Corner Foldable Definitions go directly under the Element flap Principles go in the center Cut Poster Board 14 X 14 inches Fold in half and then in half again (guidelines optional) Open up and use the previous folds to guide folding each corner into the middle Use the corner points to split the four corners into 8 spaces with lines Open up and continue using the folded lines and points to divide the spaces Attached is a small 7 X 7 inch printable
