The acorns were collected in the Outaouais region of Quebec, Canada, dried, washed, baked, painted , and then sealed with satin varnish for protection. Christmas acorns ornaments Set of 10/20/30 I look for the perfect acorns in the forest and then work on processing them and preparing them for dyeing. To preserve them, they are cleaned in water and baked for several hours to dry and kill the insects inside. When they are dry, I degrease the surface and apply 2-3 coats of base paint to each acorn. Then I carefully hand paint each acorn. After they dry, I apply an acrylic gloss varnish and let them set overnight.
