12” diameter sturdy cardboard tubes used for pouring cement forms in building construction were used. The center tube is 7 feet tall and the shortest is 5 feet tall. The tubes come in 12 feet lengths.
The tubes were painted twice using an outdoor semi-gloss latex paint in the 3 advent wreath candle colors.
A 6” gold bling ribbon was applied to each top of the candles using Gorilla Brand outdoor double stick tape strips.
The diameter of this wreath is 16 feet so it can easily be seen from the road

St. Mary Catholic Church, Milan, Mo. A small group of parishioners created this Advent Wreath. Cedar tree limbs were used for the greenery. The large cardboard candle tubes are held in place by driving 4 rebar strips into the ground to fill the inside diameter of the tube. For extra reinforcement wooden stakes were driven in the ground around the exterior of the tube. A 12” black plastic oil change pan sits in the top of the tube and each tube will hold a battery operated candle.

I love to craft Advent wreaths with kids! When you send a child home from co-op or religious ed with an Advent wreath, you have sent them home with so much more than a craft.
