After drills like these athletes usually feel like they are able to use their whole body in sequence to produce force and connect it a lot better to actually put the force into the ball explosively. But it takes a lot of work to learn how to be able to use each part effectively and consistently. Some may need regressed/different exercises to learn the hip, torso and arm action, and separate and control them well. I recommend drills like these be done consistently for weeks/months depending on the athlete to build a solid foundation.
