two pieces of fabric sitting on top of a blue cutting mat next to a white object

Hello Everyone, Today I'm going to show you how to make this ribbon border which will be framing my Peek-a-Boo Pumpkins. I started by making 32 (HST) half-square triangles. I make my HST eight at a time using an easy method. You can watch this method by clicking HERE and viewing my video on The Quilt Show. There is a lot of information in my Patchwork Math videos. To soak it all in, you can watch them over and over again for free! Now that I've trimmed my HST to the correct size using a…

the fabric is white and has pink dots on it

From a vintage baby pillowcase. Two rows of white rickrack attached along the edge with tiny tacking stitches at the points. It gives the illusion of crocheted or lace edging without being too frilly. Updated on 7/2 to add this photo of the back so you can see how the rickrack has been sewn on. Rickrack flowers that I found in a bag of vintage sewing things at the flea market. The points are gathered and tacked through to the back with tiny stitches to hold them in place. A closeup of the…

A few minutes later I was already working on one of my fabric envelopes using this Prairie Points Panel. I felt like sharing this super easy and fun idea with you all that you can use it in different project as a focus element using all sorts of pretty scraps. OK, let's get started! Things you need: Cotton…

Remember all the strips of fabrics leftover from projects you worked on for years? I have a drawer full of strips of different widths, just waiting to be part of a quilt. Two-and-a-half inch lone strip beauties, remnants of bindings, leftover borders… It is all in there. Every time I cut strips from yardage of …

three crocheted flowers sitting on top of a white cloth

I was asked nicely if I would make a tutorial of the ric-rac flowers so I just couldn't say no. Plus, I know how much I appreciate tutorials that others do. Here goes! I hope you try it. You may click all photos to enlarge them. You will need: One tea towel Various colors of cotton ric rac Pins Fabric glue (washable) Water soluble fabric marker Embroidery floss Method: 1. I determined that it takes 12 points on one side of the ric-rac to make a circle that lays down flat. So count twelve…
