Zebrawood (Microberlinia brazzavillensis) has a light golden yellow heartwood with streaks of dark brown to black. The stripes can be chaotic and wavy (flatsawn), or somewhat uniform (quartersawn). I used six pallets (some oak with GREAT wormholes), some strips of zebra and ipe wood for the butcher block top, cast iron legs from an old bench, epoxy and a strip of LED lights for my Wormhole Pallet Bar! The bar is 36" wide, 42" tall, and the top tier shelf is 58" tall. The whole bar is on 4" wheels.

EXOTIC WOOD: ZEBRA WOOD From equatorial western Africa, Zebrawood is usually logged by hand with a hundred men or more on mountain slopes. It is arduous, back breaking work. Trees can be quite large with diameters of 3-5 ft. and straight trunks of 40-60 ft. before the first limbs. When Zebra logs are cut, they are almost always quarter sawn to show the fine Zebra stripes in the lumber. This colorful grain is one of the most appealing features of Zebra wood. www.cookwoods.com
