Hannah Szenes - Wikipedia
Hannah Szenes was a Hungarian Jewish resistance fighter, who enlisted in the British Army and volunteered for service behind the lines in Europe. After spending three months with Tito's partisans in Yugoslavia, she crossed into Hungary at the height of the deportation of Jews on May 13, 1944. Denounced by locals, she was arrested by the Hungarian police and severely tortured. During a "trial" in October '44 she defended her actions and was sentenced to death. She was executed on 11/7/1944.

History Wars: Photo
War Images. Some of the photos can be harsh or unpleasant. War is a disgrace, is cruelty, misery, tears and death. On the other hand will try to include pictures that bring us a little closer to the conflict, its quirks and conflicts. Finally will try to add a brief description to each photo for informational purposes. I hope you find this site of interest.
