Biase's, Newark: The Biase family (Larry Biase, pictured) ran its eponymous Bloomfield Avenue eatery for nearly 80 years and was headquarters for Newark's Carnevale, an Italian Mardi Gras. Among its patrons: President George H.W. Bush, Vic Damone, Bob Hope, Joe DiMaggio, and Debbie Reynolds. The restaurant closed in the early 1990s; a Facebook page devoted to the restaurant has more than a thousand followers.
