Acrylic painting process for Patchwork Fields
Process and notes for my painting PATCHWORK FIELDS Here’s my palette: Quinacridone/Nickel Azo Gold Pyrole Red Pyrole Orange Cadmium Yellow Hansa Yellow Light Burnt Sienna Raw Sienna Naples Yellow Teal Cobalt Blue Ultramarine Blue Burnt Umber Light Carbon Black White Gesso I’m using fluid acrylics from @goldenpaints. For glazing and thinning I use Satin Glazing Liquid from Golden. This also slows the drying time of my acrylic paint mixes. I’m working on a ultra smooth Claybord panel from @amp

At night before bed Vienna and I have been reading “The Secret Garden.” The whole book is full of magic, but when we got to this portion with Archibald Craven by the stream, it swept me away! My mind pictured a landscape to paint…a stream, blue forget-me-nots, a moss carpet..soft and like a dream, healing and peaceful. I hope you enjoy the painting and the story that inspired it. I started this painting almost a year ago. Can you believe it? I’m finally making progress again after a long break. This is a big painting for me and it’s definitely taking me a long time to figure out. It feels good to see the flowers start to come to life. I can start to see where it’s going.
