The Committee for the First Amendment, a group of Hollywood Stars, stand outside the US Capitol building in Washington, DC to protest the House un-American Activities Committee's censorship of the film industry. Their involvement proved ineffective and only drew suspicion onto them. The group quickly disbanded. Among those in attendance are stars Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, John Huston, and Danny Kaye.
