Illusion- look at this canvas and tell me you see? the left side framework is slightly distorted..this is because of the strong diagonals in the frame..the ancient Greeks knew this optical flaw all too well when they designed their temples and the only way to correct it so that it appears straight is to crop the side slightly at an angle.
