Cheng Miao, prison official in the Chin Dynasty, made simplification to the hsiao chuan, or "small-seal", script that led to the evolution Li-shu, or "clerical" style. The simplification is often referred to as the "Li transformation". Li-shu script had a major impact on Chinese calligraphy and can be divided into two styles the Han (left) and Quin (right) style.
