When I first picked up this Mid Century Modern record cabinet, I planned to fully restore it. But once I got it home, I found out the top was laminate (basically plastic). A quick Google search told me it was a low quality knockoff of a high-end brand. So… change of plans! I decided to paint it and give it a modern update instead. HOW TO BE A MONEY MAKER First things first, this is an American of Martinsville Merton Gershun end table. They retail for $800 a piece. I found this bad boy for $20 at my local thrift store and it was 50% off! My jaw fell to the FLOOR when I saw the famous silver X detailing! I only paid $10! I knew it would be a super quick restoration too. Steps: • 1. Cleaned real good with Krud Kutter • 2. Sanded using 120 grit with my @surfprepsanding (use FURNITUREDR10 for a discount) 3.
