The Treaty of Paris 1783 officially ended the Revolutionary War. There were six parts: 1) America was independent; 2) Its boundaries were the Mississippi River on the west, Canada on the north, and Spanish Florida on the south; 3) The U.S. was allowed to fish off the Canadian coast; 4) Britain and the U.S. would pay off any debts they owed each other; 5) Britain would return any enslaved persons; 6) Congress recommended that the states return any property they had taken from the Loyalists.
