Arawn Celtic god of the Otherworld found in the Welsh Mabinogion. He rounds up the souls of the dead in the Otherworld with his hounds (notable for their red ears and white bodies). Portrayed as a badass in modernity stemming from "our" religious construction of good and evil designed to taint the reputations of the Celtic/Pagan gods. On occasion Arawn is aligned with the Tuatha De Danaan and is said to have married into the Irish tribe. He may be Donn the Irish god of the Otherworld.
The Irish legend of the Children of Lir is about a stepmother transforming her children into swans for 900 years. In the legend The Wooing of Etain, the king of the Sidhe (subterranean-dwelling, supernatural beings) transforms himself and the most beautiful woman in Ireland, Etain, into swans to escape from the king of Ireland and Ireland's armies. The swan has recently been depicted on an Irish commemorative coin.
The Ozark Howler, also known as the Ozark Black Howler, is a legendary creature that is purported to live in remote areas in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. The Ozark Howler is typically described as being bear sized, with thick body, stocky legs, black shaggy hair, and as having prominent horns. Its cry is often described as being a combination of a wolf's howl and an elk's bugle.
In Alpine folklore, the Tatzelwurm is a stubby, lizard-like creature. It takes the appearance of a cat with the hind-end of a serpent with no hind legs. It is rumored to live in several areas of Europe, including the Austrian, Bavarian, Italian and Swiss Alps.
A Scandinavian Child Spirit, also called Utburd. They are typically the souls of murdered children or children who died unbaptized. They will ride travelers at night and demand to be taken to a graveyard so they can rest. As they approach the graveyard they get heavier and heavier until the traveler is driven under the ground by the weight of the child spirit.
