"One of the most amazing things about Sam for me, is that he was the only commoner of the group. His fellow hobbits were part of extremely well thought of upper class families. Aragorn and Boromir were descendants of Kings. Legolas is a prince. Gimli is one of Durin’s Folk. Gandalf is one of the Istari, representing the mighty Vala. Sam was just a gardener... yet he became one of the most important and bravest of them all".

Everyone says that Legolas states the obvious and that in the movies, aside from being attractive and killing a ton of orcs, he has no point. But Legolas and Gimli became great friends, and I feel that Legolas’ unwavering support of Aragorn gave him strength throughout their journey. Perhaps his lines aren’t the most creative, but he is a sure friend to have at their side when all seems lost.

A lot of people think Faramir is underrated. I think Éomer is even more so. He was faithful to Théoden even when he was being controlled by Saurman, he led the attack on the Uruk-hai and helped Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli when it was against the law. He fought bravely alongside Aragorn twice and during his reign as king was called Éomer Éadig, or "the Blessed". He deserves so much more credit. I wish there was more of him in the movies. Also, he's Doctor McCoy. Give the man some respect.
