This photograph of Queen Victoria was taken by John Jabez Edwin Mayall in May 1860. At the time this picture was taken Queen Victoria was 41 years old and had been Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland for 23 years. Her nine children ranged in age from three years old to nineteen years old. Her first grandchild Wilhelm II, Prince of Prussia, had been born in January 1859 and her second grandchild, Princess Charlotte of Prussia, would be born in two months. The Queen's husband
