Channa Dorje (Sanskrit: Varjapāni, from Sanskrit vajra, ”thunderbolt” or ”diamond” and pāṇi, lit. ”in the hand”) is one of the earliest Bodhisattvas of Mahayana Buddhism. He is the protector and guide of the Buddha, and rose to symbolize the Buddha's power.
