A sucessor was developped in 1943-1944, the 43M Turan III, armed with a long 75mm gun KwK 40 L43 (Same as the late Panzer IV)in a new turret. The armor was higly improved by the addition of spaced armor, and the Turan III was able to compete with the late Panzer IV, but it never entered service due…

Over 3000 units of this RABA brand, agile, six-wheel-drive troop carrier were built by various factories, like MAVAG, in Hungary between 1938-1944. Named after Botond, a legendary soldier, this military truck was manufactured with a 3800cc four cylinder engine, later increased to 4300cc. Shown here is a restored vehicle at a historical reenactment held in 2004.
