The Manor House Hotel, Castle Combe

This extraordinary estate is now a 5-star hotel and golf club. The house was built in the 14th century and has 48 rooms and 365 acres (1.5 km2) of gardens. The grounds' Italian, Classical and medieval Gothic styled gardens and summerhouse were added in the mid-19th century and are still maintained today.

Trerice House - Newquay

The Elizabethan manor house of Trerice, located a few miles outside of Newquay. This view is the facade with it's Dutch-style gables built on an E plan. The house dates back to 1573 and was built by Sir John Arundell. Trerice stayed in the family for over 400 years before changing hands a number of times. In 1953 the estate was acquired by the National Trust.
