My Inventions I - My Early Life from the Tesla Universe Article Collection
Tesla: "My brother was gifted to an extraordinary degree - one of those rare phenomena of mentality w/biological investigation has failed to explain. We owned a magnificent horse- of Arabian breed possessed almost human intelligence. This horse was responsible for my brother’s injuries from which he died. I witnessed the tragic scene and although 56 yrs have passed my visual impression of it lost none of its force. Thinking of his attainments made every effort of mine seem dull in comparison."
Nikola Tesla - "Inventions of Tesla--A Man Whose Mind Works While He Sleeps."
This is a wonderful article I found in the Newspaper Archives from 1904. Frank G. Carpenter interviewed Nikola Tesla on two separate occasions. The first time was September of 1894 at Tesla's laboratory on East Houston and the second interview took place at the Waldorf on the evening of December 17, 1904. Mr. Carpenter never published his notes from the first interview until this article where he combines both interviews into a marvelous glimpse into the world of Nikola Tesla.

Statue of Nikola Tesla at Niagara Falls ...Some consider him the "greatest geek who ever lived." He invented AC (Alternative Current electricity), could memorize entire books and recite them at will, and spoke 8 languages (Serbian , English, Czech, German, French, Hungarian, Italian and Latin).
In 1901, Tesla purchased 200 acres on Long Island’s north shore from James Warden. These 200 acres were part of an 1,800 acre potato farm along what is today Route 25A in Shoreham, NY. The site became known as Wardenclyffe, after the former owner. Here, Tesla established what would become his only remaining laboratory building.
