4th grade began by drawing & cutting out a black paper silhouette of an animal. "Then students drew one or two x-ray drawings: an image of one of the animal's bones or organs. The last step was to add patterns of dots to their animals using tempera paint and swabs. Students included an Aboriginal symbol, concentric circles, on the backgrounds of their artworks. The concentric circle stands for family, or a village." Classe D'art, Aboriginal Dot Painting, Aboriginal Symbols, 4th Grade Art, Grade 3, Fourth Grade, Homeschool Art

Ms Maggie Mo's Australian Aboriginal hand project: spray hand with thinned white or black tempera, student paints dots with sticks. I showed 1988 Nat Geo Aborigine video of Gagadju Aborigines blowing paint from mouths over hands as part of ritual. Awesome video also shows artist making intricate bark painting.
