Earth Day Main Idea/Details graphic organizer – write details for the main idea: “People celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd each year.” Write a List! – draw pictures and write a list of Earth Day writing ideas. How many words can you make from the letters in EARTH DAY? – cut the letters out and use them to make words from the letters in “Earth Day.” Save the Earth – write about ways that people can save the earth. Illustrate the writing. Earth Day Booklet – read and color a booklet about Earth Day. Earth Day Sort – read, cut, sort, and glue the sentences into two groups: “Things that Help the Earth” and “Things that Harm the Earth.” Earth Day Word Search Earth Day Acrostic Poem - write a word or phrase that starts with each of the letters in EARTH DAY and describes Earth Day. Earth Day Sentences – put words in order to form sentences about Earth Day {includes word cards}. Drawing About Earth Day – read the Earth Day sentences. Draw pictures to illustrate the sentences.
