Jeweled skeletons from the taken from the catacombs of Rome in the century, the relics of twelve martyred saints were then attired in the regalia of the period before being interred in a remote church on the German/Czech border.
Close up: Christ's belt located Aachen Cathedral, is a Roman Catholic church in Aachen, Germany. The Shrine of St. Mary rests in the choir of the church and dates from 1220-1239. Adorned with the figures of Christ, Mary, Charlemagne, Pope Leo III and the Twelve Apostles, the shrine contains the four great Aachen relics: St. Mary's cloak, Christ's swaddling clothes, St. John the Baptist's beheading cloth & Christ's loincloth. The cathedral also carries "3 small relics" Mary and Jesus.
