wooden board games
TV Tray Game Board Combo: I drew a checker board on this wood tray. I then painted in the squares. My last step was to spray on a sealant. Or use Mod Podge. I also painted the legs. So this tray can be used to eat dinner on or to play checkers. For homemade checker pieces find a branch the diameter of a real checker piece. Cut them to size and paint.
Outdoor checkers An old table I had by the grill. I sanded, stained, painted the checker board and water sealed it. Draw the checker board first, and size the squares based on the size of the table. I then cut circles of wood (using hole saw, scroll saw, or jig saw). I used a hole saw on my drill. I painted the checkers and water sealed them. For an added touch, I built trays on each side of the table to hold the checkers when not in use. So it can be a card table or even a picnic table.
