The German Shepherd Dog is a very smart dog to have. They are very good to have for protection, herding, and being easily trained into a service dog. However, the bad thing can be that can eat you out of house and home. They also can have hip problems, like hip dysplasia. This is very expensive to fix and is not guaranteed to work and if unsuccessful, they may have to be put to sleep.
