Come Together Kids: Mini Marshmallow Shooters (or Pom Pom Poppers) put a balloon over the top half of a stiff plastic cup, with the bottom of the cup removed. Pull of the balloon tie with the pompom inside, and POP!
I could use this activity as an ice breaker for the first week of school or as a classroom community builder. I could have the students sit in a circle or break them up into small groups and work on the ice breaker together.
