Blackfoot Beaded Hide War Shirt. ДА2. Collected by John M. Phillips. Owner: Cream Antelope (Blackfoot, d. 1936) was a leader among the Blackfoot in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He became a focus of a federal expedition, in which Walter McClintock (1870-1949), a photographer for the US government, recorded Cream Antelope singing traditional songs and photographing him in front of his tipi. Date: 1880. L: 49 in, width: 2 in Hide with some fur on one side and beaded stripe sewn to other side. Wide strip down center has blue triangles on either side of a red stripe on a white ground. Two narrow stripes on side have blue triangles separated by rows of tin cones. On each side edge of hide is a thin row of light blue beads in triangles. Collection Center of the West
