Unless it’s an heirloom piece and I hand stitch my binding, I typically sew my binding on from the back and fold over to the front and then machine stitch. Here ya go! Also, I always fold the starting of my binding on the diagonal, then press and fold lengthwise with right sides facing out. I like to use 2 1/4” strips for smaller projects and 2 1
