Gravel around the foundation for drainage, plant shrubs along to help soak up water. Like the idea of the large rock to prevent erosion from the water spicket. Maybe a few cool pots or barrels with plants too? I like :) side yard idea!

Patio on the golf course, A low maintenance patio of stamped concrete, elevated by a dry-stacked stone wall., Between the house and patio a small green space was made to keep the concrete from looking too harsh against the house.
The dry streambed of river rocks that seems to flow from one lawn-pond to the other in the upper, contemplative area of this small suburban backyard east of Seattle. Japanese Forest grass is so pretty.
